A busload from various locals of IBEW T-6, along with CWA members, went down to NYC on Thursday, June 28, 2007 to join with thousands of CWA members in front of the West Street C.O. to send a loud and clear message to VZ that Union-Busting will not be tolerated, and the sale of Northern New England will be stopped.  Speakers included many NY politicians, Labor leaders, Local 2222 Business Manager Myles Calvey, and VZB Tech John Sweeney, whose speech can be seen in this video.

When you watch this video, keep in mind what managment has been saying about unions. Does the crowd at the rally look like a third party? Do these chanting union members feel that the union is only out for the dues? When you watch the video, it will be clear as day that the union is the membership. It will be clear that the membership welcomes VZB techs into their ranks, and that IBEW and CWA members support your rights to organize. Watching this video will also make clear that being a member of a union means joining a group with POWER.
