WHAT A WEEKEND!  Local 2222 designated the weekend of March 3rd & 4th, 2007 as Labor Weekend.  We began on Saturday March 3rd with two bus loads of members and countless car loads more heading north to Monument Square in Portland, ME for a "STOP THE SALE OF THE NORTHERN STATES" rally. We joined over a thousand of our Brothers and Sisters from IBEW locals throughout New England, as well as CWA and other organized labor groups to let Verizon & FairPoint know we will not sit idly while they sell off this company that we built.  The message was loud and clear, the solidarity evident.  Together we will be successful!  CLICK HERE to view photos of the Rally.

The weekend continued on Sunday, March 4th at Florian Hall in Dorchester for our annual 2222 C.O.P.E. Breakfast.  C.O.P.E. Chairman PJ Foley and his team did a tremendous job once again, as the hall was electrified with an overflow crowd approaching 500 people.  We heard from many of our political friends, including Senator John Kerry, Congressman Bill Delahunt,  Congressman John Tierney, Congressman Steve Lynch, Lt. Governor Tim Murray, as well as State Reps, State Senators, Mayors, City Counselors and many more.  We also had three brave techs from Verizon Business who are leading the way in the campaign to organize.  Your fight is our fight, and Verizon knows it.  Hang Tough!  Check back soon for pictures from this great event!
