Rallying Continues at Brockton Garage

Brockton Rally - July 17, 2008
Brockton Rally - July 17, 2008
About 100 telephone workers and community supporters rallied at a Verizon garage in Brockton for a union contract that would ensure good wages, quality health care and secure pension benefits. Union members are also fighting for the jobs of the future, as Verizon transitions from a traditional phone company to a high tech provider of video, Internet and wireless communications.

Local 2322 Business Manager Gene McLaughlin hosted members from each of the T-6 locals, representatives from the Postal Unions, as well as community activists and Political allies.  Special thanks to Don Murphy for coordinating the rally!

This was the fourth "rolling rally" before the Verizon contract expires on Aug. 2. Future rallies will be in Springfield on July 21, Providence on July 24, New York City on July 26, and culminating with a large rally at Verizon New England Headquarters in Boston on July 31.
