2222 Futures Committee

The Futures Committee Co-Chairmen
Stay Tuned for the Next Futures Committee Meeting
The Massachusetts AFL-CIO has established and expanded it’s Futures Program aimed at promoting more involvement by younger members of our Labor Movement.
Once again, our local has stood on the vanguard of this effort. Our members have been involved in the steering committee and various job actions initiated by the AFL-CIO Futures Committee.
Local 2222 has shown by it’s actions that our membership is active, vibrant, and ready to stand in solidarity with workers throughout the Commonwealth.
The first Futures Committee meeting was held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the IBEW Local 2222 union hall. More than two dozen members attended, eager and ready to get involved. Please stay tuned for more information on upcoming Futures Committee meetings and events.
Our local and the entire labor movement needs new ideas and fresh thinking. It will not come from the old timers. It must come from our younger members.
We need more participation in the day-to-day affairs of the local and the active involvement of more members in the labor movement. Without it, our movement — and our bargaining power — will grow weaker and weaker. But with more involvement, we will grow and become stronger.
Remember, watch for upcoming meetings, and if you can, “Bring One More” member to the next meeting!
