Action Alert – Please Sign Our Letter Today

Please join us in supporting the Massachusetts State House Employee Union (MSHEU). On March 31, 2022, IBEW Local 2222 representatives delivered a letter to the Senate President, announcing that a critical majority of Senate staffers said, “Yes!” to a union. The MSHEU and IBEW Local 2222 have worked since then to encourage the Senate President to publicly support her staff’s request to unionize and to open the door for collective bargaining.

This week marks 100 days since IBEW notified the Senate President of this historic moment. In honor of that mark, we ask you to sign your name to this letter to Senate President Spilka, requesting immediate action on the staff’s request to have a voice in their workplace.

We ask that you sign this letter to the Senate President by Monday, July 11 at 5 PM.

Thank You for your support!

Work at Home Agreement Extended

As you know, IBEW and CWA have been negotiating with Verizon since May 16, 2022 to determine whether it’s possible to agree on the terms of a contract extension.

The current Covid-19 work at home renewal expires on Saturday, June 4, 2022. We have mutually decided it is everyone’s best interest to extend the work at home arrangements as the contract extension discussions continue.

The work at home arrangements have been extended through July 16, 2022.

Any developments on contract negotiations will be communicated as they become available.
