Verizon Bargaining

As you know, our current collective bargaining agreement with Verizon does not expire until August 1, 2026.
However, Verizon, IBEW, and CWA are jointly announcing today that we will be entering into bargaining beginning May 21, 2025, to determine whether it is possible to agree on the terms of a contract extension.
We will keep you posted on further developments.
IBEW 2222 will be using our Union Strong App as the primary means of communicating bargaining updates. If you have not yet done so, please download the IBEW 2222 Union Strong App today.

Last week, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers.
This is union-busting, plain and simple, and we won’t stand for it.
This Saturday, America’s unions are coming together with allies of labor at hundreds of events all across the country to send a message: Hands off our Social Security. Hands off our public schools. Hands off our Medicare. Hands off our jobs. And hands off our unions and our contracts!
Call your Member of Congress Today
Last week, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers at more than 30 agencies.
The fact sheet it issued explicitly said that this is retribution for unions speaking out and leading the charge against the administration’s illegal actions in court.
This is union-busting, plain and simple, and if President Trump can cancel hundreds of thousands of union members’ contracts with the stroke of a pen, no union contract in America is safe—and freedom for anyone to join a union, no matter where you work or where you live, is under attack.
We are asking every single American who cares about the fundamental freedom of all workers to call their member of Congress right now.
Make a call today: 844-733-3172 – Our message is simple: Tell your senators and representative that we demand our union rights to be protected. Other important points are:
- Unions improve federal agency performance—they don’t hurt it. The executive order issued last night is about union-busting, not national security.
- The Trump administration is punishing unions for speaking out against its illegal actions. Any member of Congress who supports working people needs to speak out and fight back.
- We will not stand for this blatant abuse of power that attacks the freedom of any worker to join a union.
It’s clear this is an attempt to silence workers. Which means it’s time for us to get louder.
The labor movement is not about to let Trump and an unelected billionaire destroy what we’ve fought for generations to build.
An injury to one is an injury to all. We will fight this outrageous attack for all working people.
Please Donate in remembrance of Sandro Bruni son of longtime member and steward Anthony Bruni of Braintree garage.
Sandro, a Brookline (MA) High School 2020 graduate and college athlete, was in pain when he returned to Ohio in the fall of 2023 to begin his senior year at Ohio Wesleyan University. His wrestling team’s trainer quickly scheduled an MRI. Seeing the results, the MRI technician escorted him immediately to the ER, and his mom, Jennifer, caught the next flight there, just in time to meet with the hospital’s neurosurgeon.
The doctor confirmed that Sandro had a tumor in his upper spinal cord and told Jennifer that only two surgeons in the country would be able to handle such a difficult operation — one of them at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, near the family’s home in Brookline. The doctor also urged Sandro and Jennifer to act quickly, saying that the tumor needed to come out within the next 10 days.
A few days later, Sandro returned home, and he and the family met with the neurosurgeon at MGH. Sandro was admitted immediately, and on September 15, underwent a complex and lengthy (9+ hours) but successful surgery to remove what the surgeon observed to be an aggressive tumor.
Biopsy results revealed the tumor to be a Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG, mutation H3K27M), a very rare, aggressive, and malignant type of tumor for which there is no well-established effective treatment.
Though Sandro was able to move his arms and a leg post-surgery, what turned out to be a blood clot discovered at the site of his surgery nine days later had begun to affect his lower body and required emergency surgery to remove. This left Sandro unable to walk and with limited sensation or function below the chest.
Along with his rehabilitation, Sandro underwent radiation therapy. Sandro’s age and disability excluded him from participating in clinical trials. Despite dealing with the grueling side effects and complications of daily chemotherapy for seven months, Sandro persisted in working out four times a week.
Sandro approached his illness the same way he faced an opponent on the wrestling mat, with unyielding determination and courage.
We will miss Sandro’s sharp intelligence, fierce loyalty, playful sense of humor, generous spirit, bone-crushing hugs, and handsome face.
Sandro was an extraordinary young man, and we know he is watching over us now with great love and compassion. Sandro taught us many things over the past year and a half: to stay in the present moment and to respond with love, dignity, and grace to life’s challenges.
After 18 months, Sandro passed away on March 15, 2025. He donated his body to Gift from a Child and selected research labs working to find a treatment for DMG/DIPG. Please consider making a donation in Sandro’s memory – CLICK HERE to donate.
